Royal College of Art
Ideation, content and project management
In 2020, the RCA approached Unthinkable Digital to help them face an enormous challenge in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. How can you show art in an exhibition format in times of lockdown?
They wanted to be able to showcase students’ work which is usually a huge milestone in student life, and a significant event for the Royal College of Art as an institution. This now had to happen solely online and a solution needed to be up and running in just a few months.
Sarah Murphy worked for the Unthinkable Digital team as lead content producer and project manager working closely with technology partner Platform-3 to produce a flexible and open platform that would meet the needs of a wide variety of student artists.
WIth over 391,000 views, RCA2020 saw over 5,000 visitors from all over the world attend over 250 online events, with 77 invited curators and collaborators also taking part in July 2020. In addition to coverage in national, international and creative press, the sentiment on social media for the College grew to +22 as a direct result of RCA2020, with over 5 million impressions.
Sarah again worked with Unthinkable, Platform-3 and the RCA team on RCA2021, where she provided project management and iterative proposition design feedback, reflecting user feedback from RCA2020.
